Privacy Policy for Lathe
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Lathe is designed to work entirely on your Mac. This policy explains, simply and directly, what that means for your privacy.
Summary
Lathe does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Your photos, videos, PDFs, and any information about them never leave your device.
Data Collection
Lathe does not collect any data. Specifically:
- No accounts. Lathe does not require you to sign in or create an account.
- No analytics or tracking. Lathe does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
- No file uploads. All file browsing, editing, and processing (optimization, conversion, background removal, watermarking, and similar features) happens entirely on your Mac. Your files are never uploaded to any server.
- No network access, except for one exception described below.
In-App Purchases
Lathe offers an optional one-time "Pro" unlock via Apple's In-App Purchase system. This transaction is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Lathe does not receive, process, or store your payment information. Apple manages this directly according to Apple's own Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
Lathe does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.
Children's Privacy
Lathe does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, for example if a future version of Lathe adds a feature that involves data collection, this page will be updated, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect that change.
